Back On The Blog Train

Ok, after a couple lot of months (oops, knew that would happen!), I'm trying to get back into the wonderful world of blogs!

Tom and I just got back from our honeymoon to Playa del Carmen, Mexico on Sunday where we stayed for eight nights at the Riu Tequila. I have included some pictures of our resort from the internet below:

It was a very interesting trip to say the least! Tom got sick, the weather was cold/cloudy/rainy, travel days were crazy (3 chaotic hours in customs when we arrived in Mexico!)...but all in all, it is always wonderful to have time alone with my wonderful husband.

Unfortunately, we didn't take many pictures at all, but I will see if I can scrounge a picture or two to post later on. I literally think maybe I only took 10!? Definitely not like me, but again like I said before, definitely not a normal trip.

My favorite part of the trip was the night we went into town and the one excursion we did, Xel-Ha.

We went into town the night of Fat Tuesday. It was an awesome experience because the town was filled with so much culture and celebration that night! We maybe only stayed about 3 hours, but very cool nonetheless. There was a parade on the main strip so we grabbed some Coronas, watched salsa dancers, performers and floats and listened to some live music. We checked out Senor Frogs but I must admit I wasn't impressed. Too Americanized for me; I enjoyed going to the local areas much more!

Xel-Ha was a giant tropical inlet for snorkeling and had some other water activities as well (and just like the rest of our trip--all you can eat and drink). The day we went there it was FREEZING and raining but it didn't stop us! Or more so, didn't stop Tom, hehe! We got to see some cool fish, stingrays and even an 80 lb. grouper just a couple feet away. I must admit I was a little too scared to go where the baracudas were!

Besides Tom being sick though (and the unusually cold weather), it was nice to get away! Definitely a different idea of what I thought our honeymoon would be, but if this trip was perfect, what would we have to look forward to in the future!??! Maybe a good excuse for a Honeymoon- Round 2?!!? {wink, wink}

Until next time!
Brenda
