Tom and I had an rockin' date night last night. We went to
Toby Keith's new bar and grill in St. Louis Park and then headed downtown to watch
Cirque du Soleil: Alegria at Target Center compliments of the Hainje parents! Thanks for an awesome birthday present!
I have never been to a Cirque du Soleil performance before so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. And as an afterthough, I have two things to say:
- WOW!!!!!....and...
- I think I'm going to quit my job and join the circus!
Seriously, people! These artists do crazy things with their bodies that I would never image humanly possible. My favorite act to watch was the
trampolines. They bounce and fly through the air with such grace. And who KNOWS how they keep from colliding into eachother? The two acts that I was most impressed with were the
flying trapeze artists (of course!) and then the man who did a
balancing act on his hands on stilts. Simply amazing. Lots of "OOOs" and "AAAHs" came out of my mouth during this whole 2+ hour show.
So, now I must be off to start my training of extreme balance/strength acts! Or in actuality, back to my cube to plug away at the computer
dreaming I was 1/100th as talented and athletic as the Alegria performers.
Until next time!
Brenda
