82 degrees. Slight Breeze. Boat. Lake Minnetonka. Sunny, blue skies. Family. My Wonderful Husband. Daisy. This is the list of perfect ingredients for a perfect day (minus Brian)!
Today my dad, mom, Tom and Daisy celebrated Father's Day on the lake--one of our favorite past times! We could be basking in the sun on the lake forever. And forever. And foreverrrr! :)
Activities included...
Fishing.
Not a lot of fish caught (especially compared to my Dad and Tom's recent Canada trip!) but at least we didn't get skunked. :) Fishing is just an excuse for me to be on a boat anyways; but I must admit, it sure is stinking fun to pull in a big one! :)
Cruising.
I love this little Boat Dog. Daisy loves being on the water like the rest of her family, too! Nothing makes me smile more than a dog's head held up high during top speed, nose up in the air, and hair flying away; there is something so pure and innocent in the simple joy that spreads across their face has the wind rushes by.
BBQing on the Boat.
Hot Dogs on the Grill. Mom's Delicious Homemade Potato Salad. Veggies w/ Dip. Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips--you know, the ones with the REALLY, REALLY loud bad! There is no *sneaking* chips there; but so good, could not resist! Yup, summer BBQ on the lake, this is the life.
Swimming.
82 degrees and sunny calls for a refreshing dip in the lake! We pulled off at Maxwell Bay to play a little football and wade in the water. Yes, below Tom does have both his shorts and swim trunks on at the same time. I giggle at him every time he does this (which is always); it is so goofy to me, but then again, I love him even more for it! I love that these type of things make Tom himself--his quirks, imperfections and all. Side Note: He does at least take the khakis off when he hops into the lake.
I love my dad! And I love my family!
Happy Father's Day, Dad! You are the best father a girl could ever ask for. Your love is so abundant, your positive attitude so contagious and your constant laughs and smiles fill my life with joy. I'm so proud to be my father's daughter in so many ways! I LOVE YOU, DAD!
Although this picture isn't from father's day, it will be one of my favorite memories forever: my first Twins game at the new stadium and I got to spend that day with my DAD whom I love so much! I couldn't imagine that day and that moment any other way.
Until next time,
Brenda

Thanks, Roz! I sure am!! I may need to have a blog date with you one of these day, though!!?!? I want to start uploading pictures from a photo-sharing site rather than using the photo button in blogger, but I'm not sure how to exactly do that yet though? Once I do that, I'm going to widen my blog and have to go back to each post to re-configured---grr! :)
